Food Additives & Contaminants: Part A  is a subscription-based, peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles on food additives, chemical contaminants in the food and the animal feed chain as well as authenticity and adulteration.

Food Additives & Contaminants: Part A aims to disseminate research on the following topics:

  • Food additives including flavourings
  • Agrochemical and veterinary drug residues
  • Environmental contaminants
  • Plant toxins
  • Mycotoxins and marine biotoxins
  • Metals including trace elements
  • Food process contaminants
  • Adulteration, authenticity, and allergenicity of foods
  • Novel foods and processes
  • Animal feed where residues and contaminants can give rise to food safety concerns.

Food Additives & Contaminants: Part A accepts original research articles and reviews.

The journal operates a single-anonymized peer-review policy. Authors can choose to publish gold open access in this journal.
